The Flight of Your Life

Critical Care by Air

The North Country Life Flight Air Medical Rescue Team is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit medevac service serving northern New York State. Established in 1989, this year marks twenty two years of continuous service. Impacting communities from Lake Champlain to the 1000 Islands Region and from the Canadian border to south of the Adirondack Park, North Country Life Flight is a shining example of what can happen when the communities of the North Country work together to make a difference in the lives of the residents and visitors of this spectacularly beautiful and remote region.

North Country Life Flight quite literally bridges the gap between community and tertiary care by minimizing the time it takes for patients to reach the most appropriate facility based on their profile of injury or illness. Utilization of Life Flight cuts traditional transport time by as much as eighty percent and sometimes more.

Filling a Need

Air Medical Rescue is a key component of rural healthcare. It is especially important in northern New York. The distance between community care and urban based care is literally hours by ground. Even twenty years ago, the community knew that rapid air transport would make a huge difference in the health of the people of the region, so those people worked hard to create North Country Life Flight. They literally made what seemed to be impossible possible. They did it by taking a unique approach, which combined community resources, the generosity of our citizens and dedicated medical professionals. Although unique, that air medical rescue program the community created, as a joint endeavor, has proudly serviced the North Country for two decades.

Making a Difference

In that time, the highly skilled medical team that flies with North Country Life Flight has impacted lives across the region. Working with North Country hospitals and emergency personnel to provide the best care possible to the resident and visitors of the region, Life Flight is called the moment it is determined that a patient will benefit from expedient access to advanced care. That benefit includes helping to save lives, minimizing disabilities and giving patients a chance of survival that would otherwise be unavailable.

A Wonderful Program

Life Flight truly is Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Your support makes this wonderful program possible.
